Mayukh Das, Ph.D.
Mayukh Das joined the de Figueiredo lab in 2019. He received his Ph.D. degree from Jadavpur University in association with Department of Bacteriology, National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases, Indian Council of Medical Research, India. His doctoral research focused on medical microbiology, enteric diseases, and phage biology. He developed a phage-based biopesticide to control Pierce’s Disease of grapevine during his research as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and later as an Assistant Research Scientist in Texas A&M University. His primary research interest in the de Figueiredo Lab is to develop cellular biosensors that measure transcriptional reporter responses in host cells for pathogen detection.
